30.3.2008 ENC Division A: Czechs made Georgia work hard

On Saturday the 29th March played the Czech national team of his penultimate match in the ME Division A. In Prague's Eden, the Czechs played their best game this year despite losing to the favourites Georgia by a difference of nineteen points. Georgia thanks to seven wins climbed to the top of the Division A, the Czech team is without a win in the last place. more

3.11.2007 Loss in Madrid sends Czechs back to Division B

European Championship, Division A, 6th round: Czech national team lost this year's final game in Spain. The Czechs, travelling with a weakened selection, didn't score a point. Four rounds before the end of the two-year cycle it is obvious the team will leave theelite group. more

All Czech senior competitions changed their format. The major change is the season shift, from Autumn-Spring to Spring-Summer system. Other changes introduced the Grand Final in the end of October, and a new points system with bonus points. There is no promotion or relegation, all 16 teams start in April in three regional groups, and compete in the Cup. The Cup final is early June. Then, ten best-ranked teams play the Super 10 Extraliga, and other six teams in the Plate. more

24.7.2007 Prague Barbarians RFC 2007/2008

In April 2007 it was agreed that The Prague Barbarians Rugby Club would become members of Slavia Prague Rugby Club, as the third team run on a purely social basis. more

23.6.2007 Tatra broke Říčany's reign in the Championship

The Czech Champions of the KB Extraliga 2006-07 are Tatra Prague RFC. They won both legs of the final (19-3 first, 13-12 second) over their rivals Říčany RC and claimed the title that Říčany held for three previous years. more

5.6.2007 Czech Championship knows its finalists

The second leg of the semifinals, played home and away on score agreggate, decided that Říčany and Tatra will meet in the final on expense of Vyškov and Sparta respectively. The final will be played in two legs, starting June 16, and finishing on Saturday, June 23 when Tatra host Říčany. Third place playoff: Sparta - Vyškov is played on the same dates. more
