Travelling on your own - weekends and short stays

Ok, you have finally decided to visit Prague, after about ten of your mates told you how great it was there. They were right. The beer is cheap, girls very pretty and the city itself is magnificient.

How to get there

Airplane: Czech Airlines fly from major European destinations daily for reasonable prices. For supercheap prices, you have to fly from London Stanstead, and use Go-Fly.

Car: Allright, petrol is not too expensive there, you will need to buy a road tax at the border (GBP10 Pounds, 20€).

Train, Bus: possible.

Accomodation

Try to book hotel in advance as the local agencies are not very fair. The best is to find a hotel guide on the net, get the hotel's phone number and call them.

Pubs

There are good pubs everywhere. If you want to avoid the touristy spots (Vaclavske square, Mala Strana, Staromestske, the Castle), try Holesovice (metro C, station Vltavska, walk up the hill) instead. Try the stylish rugby pub in Vinohrady - you'll love it!

Watch rugby

There is SKY in the "Sports Bar", "Ve Smečkách" Street, just 100 meters from the "Václavské náměstí" square. You can also try "The Legends" just off the "Startoměstské náměstí" square.

Play rugby

Visit a rugby match on Saturday - email us for the fixture list and directions. Play rugby on Sunday afternoon - most of second division clubs will include you in the squad on first come first play basis as the rugby level is not too serious.

Discos

Ask for "Karlovy lázně", "Demínka", "Music Park".
